You live and learn from Amateur Radio and today I learned that Western Sahara is a disputed territory... the wiki entry describes yet another unsatisfactory situation over disputed territory, where the UN and international community has simply "failed again". Amateur radio is one of a few ways the region has to make contact with the world. They have very good website:

The excellent VOACAP Online shows the prevailing conditions....  it is about the most contactable DX from the UK, but  there are hardly any operators. but one is Sahrawi Amateur Radio Club
